I'm not sure about anyone else, but, I am lost without a calender. I usually buy a cheap calender from the dollar section at Target and use that. It serves it's purpose just fine, but, this year I wanted something a little different. This year I decided to involve the girls and have them make calenders to keep track of their special things. For example...count down to the kitty or show and tell themes. It keeps my calender a little more organized for household things and makes the girls feel special.
I found a website DLTK's Custom Calendars (see link below) and you can create many different types of calenders with TONS of pictures. What I did is made each month a different coloring page to coordinate with the "theme" for that month and printed up the entire year. The first day of each month the girls color the page on top and write their name on the bottom. I keep the previous month, so I can have a keepsake for their future. It's a nice way to involve the kids and a GREAT memory keeper for Mom. It also helps encourage them to write their name and have quick reference to see how far they have come. It's really cool!
I actually started mine back in Sept. when school started and the girls get excited each month to see the new picture and add their special dates.

(This website has a ton of really cool FREE printables)
