Who am I ?

I am a Mother of twin girls and everyday is a new adventure for my family. Between school, work, gymnastics, friends and a large family there is never a dull moment in our life. I thought I would share with anyone who would listen...enjoy!

What's new today?

So last week I had a post about what Erin and I chatted about. I figured it would get old if I did it everyday, so I figured I would do it every Tuesday (cleaning day) to catch up.

Today's topics ( and a couple from the past week) ...Jon and Kate Plus 8, my medication, her in-laws , my nieces and Christmas shopping.

For some reason today I talked to Erin later than normal, around 11:50. I caught her right as she was getting my nephew from the bus. They were cold and she was annoyed at a blog about Jon and Kate Plus 8. Erin loves to read blogs about this show, but, never has a chance to watch the show often. I think she finds the blogs more interesting than the show. Anyway, today someone blogged about Kate being "normal" just like us (us in general..not me & Erin) and how she clips coupons. This of course led to the monthly conversation about how we both feel that people who seek out the spot light, shouldn't complain when they are in it. Take the good with the bad and if you don't like the bad...change your job! In regards to JKP8, I can feel Erin is getting to her wits end with the show and I fear I will no longer get my updates of the wild bunch.
Another thing we spoke about was my heart medication. I suffered from CHF after delivering the girls and have been on many of medications for the past 4 years. I have never suffered any type of side effects, however, lately I have not been feeling myself. Anxious, a little depressed and nervous...all side effects of my medication. I go to Erin for advice always and wanted to know if she has noticed a difference in my behavior, she said "no", but, I should check with the doctor. I did and they said "hang in there, we'll see you in 3 weeks"....I'll keep you posted.

Next, Erins in-laws and husbands family. Well, they are a nice bunch of people, however, Erin doesn't see them much. She was telling me how her Father in law called to tell them that they were missed at their Christmas Party and that they saw their estranged daughter. This is always a juicy topic, as Erin's sister in law moved far away about 9 years ago and no one talks with her. So it was quite interesting to hear what transpired between them. Thankfully, her sister in law is doing fine and misses her family....but that is a post for Erin.

Another topic we discussed this week was my nieces. For some of you, you have followed Mish Mash Moms to the Puzzle Room. This is a Blog dedicated to my niece Emma who is autistic. She has been having a few challenges with school the past week and Erin is concerned. Thankfully, Emma will be on Christmas break soon and hopefully, her anxiety will pass. My other niece, Emma's older sister, is having her Christmas show this Friday and Erin and I have been working out the details so Erin can attend. She has 3 little one's at home that day, so she asked me to watch them. It's always fun, the kids LOVE to play with each other. My concern, I won't be able to get my girls out of there in time for school, because, they hate leaving my sisters house. Too much fun is had there!

Lastly, we talked about Christmas gifts...who hasn't. The debate of who to buy for, how much and were to end the list. As I mentioned before my husband and I have found ourselves in a much different place this year, so our list went from like 30 people to 10. At first I felt bad, but, the more I thought about it, if people don't understand...then they really aren't' worth buying a gift for anyway. Don't you buy for the people you care about? Luckily, I have a great family and great friends. We all find ourselves in that place at sometime in our lives and hopefully next year we'll be back on our feet. My husbands family....well, let's just say they are the bulk of the 10 people. My husband would rather die before letting people know we are struggling. I'm sad to say I got us into this mess with racking up about $8000 in credit card dept to Gymboree...yes Gymboree!!! I am ashamed and learning a very hard lesson. A plus side, my kids are the best dressed around...j/k! Erin braved Walmart or Target yesterday with the baby and got a few really nice toys. She is done with 2 of the 4 and still trying to decide what to get the others. Her and her husband have a great way to teach the kids about Christmas. Each child gets 3 gifts, as Baby Jesus did. It's nice and it helps keep the budget from getting out of control.

Well, I hope you enjoyed a little taste of what our week was like. Good, bad and ugly... you get it all. Let us know if you have crazy in-laws or what your Holiday Traditions may be. Also, do spend like crazy...can you afford too? Are you finding the Holidays are making you a little meloncoly? Let us know, we love to hear from you?

Next week... hopefully will have news of a new kitten, compliments of our sister Theresa.
