Who in the world is Cal Jones?
Well, you might be surprised...Cal Jones is Gabriella's imaginary husband. He is 30, going on 99 and they got married yesterday, on his birthday, and live with me and Pete. She wore a beautiful towel for the ceremony and held the reception in our bathroom. It was quite an event! Too bad her Dad couldn't come, but, he was busy at work taking meetings with his boss....
Don't you just love children's imaginations? My girls come up with the craziest names for dolls, imaginary friends and anything else that requires a name. We have a Coomja, Rajaah, Rocka and of course everyone's favorite Dootdoot. Dootdoot is Gabriella and Cal Jones' baby. Scandalous!!!!
I often just sit and listen to the girls play and smile at the crazy things they do...part reality and mostly wild imaginations! It's hard not to become part of the adventure, as they both are having so much fun. Who wouldn't want to become consumed in a world were blocks are brownies and Post it's are an endless amount of money. Money that can buy EVERYTHING you could ever want, even the green elephant you saw at the store. Last week the girls were playing and Emily came in the office and said "Nonna, can you watch Rocka?" At first I was like "what?" and then I realized she was asking me Nonna to babysit. I thought it was funny because she involved me in the correct context, as the Grandma, to watch her child. Nonna means Grandma in Italian and their Nonna watches them most of the time. It's quite funny and so cute!
To be young again and have such an imagination. I wish I could take it and bottle it and sell it the world. As adults we have to much reality going on...wouldn't a little time in imagination land be great? I guess adults do have something like that, we call it "drunk."
My Challenge to you today, take 10 minutes out of your day and "pretend" something really wonderful. Enjoy!

My daughter used to call herself Pocahontas Jean, and was going to marry her boyfriend "thumper" who worked at Shop N' Save. She is now a freshman in High school landing most of the leads in her schools Drama club, and she is in many community theatre productions.
It is a wonderful gift, imagination!
Too cute Corrine! Maybe my girls are destined for theatre too!
