Who am I ?

I am a Mother of twin girls and everyday is a new adventure for my family. Between school, work, gymnastics, friends and a large family there is never a dull moment in our life. I thought I would share with anyone who would listen...enjoy!

Where do they learn this stuff...oh yeah School!

I think I have said over and over how much I love the girls school, especially their teacher. Not only do my girls know all of their letters, numbers and basic prayers, but, they know all these others things that just blow me away.

Just recently, we were driving somewhere and we saw a firetruck; no biggie we just pulled to the side and let it pass. Gabriella and Emily both quietly made the sign of the cross and said a simple prayer with a big "Amen." I honestly didn't think anything of this, until it happened again, then of course I had to ask...what's up ladies? What's with the prayers? (Not that I am opposed to praying...I enjoy it, it just seemed there was a story behind the praying that I didn't know)...Anyway, Gabriella proceeded to tell me how their teacher has taught them when they see or hear an emergency vehicle they should say a prayers for them and the people they are on their way to help. Amazing!!! Coming from a 4 years old, better yet, teaching a 4 year old this, amazing! This is just one of the many amazing things they have learned this year, all of which blows my mind.

Each time they pull something out of their hats like this, it reminds me why Pete and I are putting so much into their educations. It's the small things like this they learn from private school, that they just don't get from public. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the kids at the public school are getting any less of an education, I just don't think they learn these small little things that really mold someone into a caring, loving, enriched person. With our lives being so focused on ourselves, to teach children to really think about what may be happening to others is huge, it really teaches them it's all not about them.

I am sad the school year is coming to an end, but, looking forward to the new chapter of Kindergarten for the girls. I just hope Pete and I don't screw up and "undo" everything they have learned while they are home for the summer.

Square one...here we come!!!
